Warranty & Policies
The fine print,
in plain sight.
Everything that governs a purchase from American Made Transmission Xchange — coverage, warranty terms, returns, cores, and the agreement between us.
01Coverage
American Made Transmission Xchange only repairs Automatic GM, Ford, and Chrysler transmissions.
All transmission parts are within easy reach, and all the necessary tools for doing the job right are on hand, so you can receive your transmission ASAP. This makes it easier for our builders to stay focused on one thing: quality.
02Limited Warranty
American Made Transmission warrants to the purchaser, for 1 year or 12,000 miles, or 2 years / 25,000 miles with an additional $495 (whichever occurs first), that we will repair or replace any re-manufactured transmission that fails due to a defect in material or workmanship. American Made Transmission does not transfer any type of warranty. Vehicles that have been modified outside of factory specifications void the warranty. Valid within the continental United States only.
Approval for repair or replacement of the re-manufactured transmission must be obtained from American Made Transmission prior to any work being performed. Any repairs or replacements performed without prior approval will not be covered. Failed transmissions must be returned to American Made Transmission within 7 days. Failure to do so will result in a denied warranty claim.
03Returns, Credits, Chargebacks
Returns will be accepted within 5 days of the date of purchase. All returns must be unused and in saleable condition. Once an order leaves our facility, the customer is solely responsible for shipping charges of $25. All returns and credits are paid via check. All chargebacks will be considered chargeback fraud and subject to legal action.
04Cores & Core Returns
Your original transmission and torque converter core must be returned within 7 days to avoid a core buyout charge. Failure to return the core within 7 days will result in a core buyout charge and will void your warranty (unless a core return is arranged). Core charges are non-refundable. By purchasing, you authorize American Made Transmission to charge the original payment method on file for unreturned cores.
05Buyer and Seller Agreement
American Made Transmission reserves the right to charge back the cost of the transmission, shipping, or labor charges should it be determined that the failure was caused by improper installation, abuse, misuse, lack of maintenance, neglect, accidents, vandalism, or any other condition not covered by this warranty. The buyer and seller agree the buyer's sole and exclusive remedy against the seller, on account of breach of contract, warranty, or performance, shall be repair or replacement of its products only. To the extent permitted by applicable law, this warranty is the sole warranty and supersedes any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular use. This limited warranty belongs to the vehicle owner whose name is printed on the warranty and is non-transferable.
06Core Return Instructions
- Drain the transmission and torque converter core. An additional fee of $150 will be added; the torque converter must be returned with the unit.
- Attach the Easy Return Tag to the transmission itself.
- Write down all codes and problems with the unit on the tag.
- Make sure all external sensors are removed from the unit.
07Customer-Supplied Parts
If you are supplying your own parts for a transmission that you would like American Made Transmission to rebuild, labor is $550.
